Mallie’s Closet – Rental Contract & Policy Agreement (2025)
Booking & Payment
A 50% deposit is required to secure your rental, with the remaining balance due one week before your event. All deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable. In the event of cancellation after full payment, 50% may be refunded or credited toward a future rental. If you wish to change your outfit after booking, a new deposit will be required.
Sizing & Fit
All measurements are listed with each rental or are available upon request. It is your responsibility to verify that the outfit will fit your child. Mallie’s Closet does not offer refunds or credits for sizing issues. Once an outfit is reserved, it is held exclusively for you.
Rental Conditions
Mallie’s Closet rentals may be brand new or gently used. Minor signs of wear such as loose stones, faint stains, or small snags may be present but will not affect stage appearance. Please notify us immediately of any significant damages you observe upon receiving the rental.
Usage Guidelines
Smoking, eating, or drinking while wearing the rental is prohibited unless the child is covered. A cape must be worn when not on stage. Do not clean, dry clean, alter, glue, or otherwise modify the outfit. Doing so may result in repair or replacement fees.
Shipping Requirements
Rentals must be shipped via UPS Ground no later than the Monday after your event. If UPS is closed, you must ship Tuesday with guaranteed Friday delivery. Do not just create a label not drop off and delay shipping. Tracking and proof of shipment must be submitted end of day Monday. Use only UPS. Using any other carrier will incur a $30 fee and may disqualify you from future rentals. All shipping costs are the renter’s responsibility.
Packaging Requirements
Rentals must be sealed in a plastic bag before being placed in the shipping box. Use the original box or a similarly sized, undamaged box. Remove or completely cover all previous shipping labels to avoid delivery issues.
Insurance & Receipts
You are responsible for insuring the rental for at least $500 or the full value of the item. Keep your shipping receipt until Mallie’s Closet confirms that the rental has been returned. If the item is lost or damaged in transit, you are financially liable unless proper insurance was purchased.
Documentation
To protect yourself from liability, you must take a video upon receiving the rental and again while packing it up for return. This helps verify the rental’s condition and contents at each stage.
Peer-to-Peer Shipping Policy
If instructed to ship directly to another renter, you are fully responsible for timely delivery and compliance with all shipping requirements. The receiving renter must still return the item on time, even if it arrived late.
Late Returns & Fees
If your return shipment is late and causes the next renter to miss their event, you will be charged a $25 per day late fee. You will also be held financially responsible for any store credit issued to the affected renter. Additional rental fees may apply for late returns.
Carrier & Weather Delays
Mallie’s Closet is not liable for shipping delays caused by weather, natural disasters, or UPS disruptions. If you shipped on time and can provide proof, you will not be penalized. Store credit may be offered to affected renters at our discretion.
Damage, Loss & Legal Action
All rentals are inspected upon return. You are responsible for damage including stains, rips, smoke odors, or missing parts. Unreturned or irreparably damaged rentals will be charged at full replacement value. Failure to return a rental may result in legal action and being banned from future rentals or reported on buyer-beware platforms.
By signing this contract, I confirm that I am over 18 years old, legally responsible for all terms, and agree to comply with the policies outlined above.
